En fait, on ne trouve qu'un seul titre de Sherman Robertson dans ce disque ("Tears in my eyes"). Le reste du programme est consacré à d'autres musiciens (Big Mama Thornton, Peppermint Harris, Big Walter Price, The Drifters).

Dans les années 80, il met sa carrière en solo en sommeil se concentrant sur son activité de guitariste régulier de Clifton Chenier puis de Rockin' Dopsie et Terrence Simien. Grâce au producteur anglais Mike Vernon, Sherman relance sa carrière personnelle avec ce superbe album de blues contemporain dans le sillage de Robert Cray. Il s'impose comme un magnifique guitariste et un bon chanteur. On apprécie en particulier "I'm your man", "Special kind of loving", "Make it rain", "Out of sight out of mind", "Vacating the blues", "Helping hand" et "Take a message". Le succès de l'album lui permet d'ailleurs de participer au festival de Montreux en 1994.

In the 80's, he put his solo career on hold, concentrating on his activity as regular guitarist for Clifton Chenier then Rockin' Dopsie and Terrence Simien. Thanks to english producer Mike Vernon, Sherman relaunched his personal career with this superb contemporary blues album in the wake of Robert Cray. He imposes himself as a magnificent guitarist and a good singer. We particularly like "I'm your man", "Special kind of loving", "Make it rain", "Out of sight out of mind", "Vacating the blues", “Helping hand” and “Take a message”. The success of the album also allowed him to participate in the Montreux festival in 1994.

Dans la continuation de "I'm the man", voici le second album de Sherman Robertson produit par Mike Vernon. On retrouve peu ou prou le même son Blues contemporain avec un peu de Soul : "In the here and now", "Born lucky", "Fool", "Lookin' up at the bottom", "This world".

Sherman propose ici un album ambitieux et personnel pour le label Audioquest. Entouré d'excellents musiciens (avec des membres de Little Feat), il délivre un superbe album varié et inspiré produit par Joe Harley. Parmi les meilleurs moments, on trouve "Guitar man", "Going back home", "I wonder why", "Looking at the bottom" ainsi qu'une belle reprise du "Don't throw your love on me so strong" d'Albert King.

Sherman offers here an ambitious and personal album for Audioquest label. Surrounded by excellent musicians (with some members of Little Feat), he delivers a superb, varied and inspired album produced by Joe Harley. Among the best moments, we find "Guitar man", "Going back home", "I wonder why", "Looking at the bottom" as well as a beautiful cover of Albert King's "Don't throw your love on me so strong".

Cet album fut capturé sur une scène hollandaise lors d'un festival et édité par Crosscut. Sherman donne une belle performance pleine de flamme et de dynamisme même si certains morceaux sont un peu trop étirés.

This album was captured on a dutch stage during a festival and issued by Crosscut. Sherman gives a great performance full of fire and dynamism even if some tracks are a little too long.
