LOUISIANA SOUL MAN

Bullseye

1991

Discovered by Scott Billington, he recorded for Bullseye (a label owned by Rounder) this first album. Produced by Billington and Lee Allen Zeno, Dalton cuts here a good album of brassy Soul Blues with interesting titles like "Blues of the Month Club", "Keep on loving me", "Heavy love", "Full moon", "Party on the farm". He shows himself to be a competent singer well supported by inspired musicians. The music is not very original but deserves careful listening.

WILLING AND ABLE

Bullseye

November 1993

Un album sans surprise globalement ennuyeux même si "The one thing", "Hold on my heart", "Never never land" peuvent être mentionnés.

Second album for Bullseye and Scott Billington with almost the same team of musicians (we note the presence of Michael Toles on guitar). A generally boring unsurprising album even if "The one thing", "Hold on my heart", "Never never land" can be mentioned. Unfortunately, Dalton Reed was found dead in his hotel room just before a concert a few months later.
