On ne connait que peu d'éléments biographiques concernant ce bluesman. Originaire du Texas, il semble vivre quelques temps en Oklahoma avant de s'installer en Californie en 1947. Il y est découvert par le producteur John R. Fullbright qui lui permet de graver ses premiers et excellents simples à Los Angeles : "Alla blues", "Central Avenue blues", "Baby I love you" et "Tricky woman blues" (les deux derniers titres avec le piano de Louis Jackson).

Very few biographical information is known about this bluesman. Originally from Texas, he apparently lived for a time in Oklahoma before settling in California in 1947. He was discovered there by producer John R. Fullbright, who allowed him to record his first excellent singles in Los Angeles : "Alla blues", "Central Avenue blues", "Baby I love you" and "Tricky woman blues" (the last two tracks featuring Louis Jackson's piano).
