Voici un puissant et vigoureux concert capturé en 1973 dans une bouillante atmosphère. Bon chanteur, Robert Ealey délivre un programme uniquement constitué de reprises, bien supporté par des musiciens dynamiques. On apprécie, en particulier, "Black night", "Turn on your lovelight" et "Sweet sixteen". Artiste régulier du Blue Bird Nite Club, il en devient même le co-gérant entre 1977 et 1994.

Here is a powerful and vigorous concert captured in 1973 in a vibrant atmosphere. A fine singer, Robert Ealey delivers a program consisting entirely of covers, well supported by dynamic musicians. "Black night", "Turn on your lovelight" and "Sweet sixteen" are particularly enjoyable. A regular performer at the Blue Bird Nite Club, he even became its co-owner between 1977 and 1994.

Grâce aux producteurs Richard Chalk et Tom Loughborough, on peut entendre Robert Ealey sur 6 titres. Un titre acoustique ("Love my baby") avec Tone Summer provenant de la séance de 1992 et cinq autres titres dont les excellents "Tell me the reason why" et "I want your love" (avec le saxophone de Johnny Reno).

Thanks to producers Richard Chalk and Tom Loughborough, Robert Ealey can be heard on 6 tracks. One acoustic track ("Love my baby") with Tone Summer comes from the 1992 session, and five other tracks include the excellent "Tell me the reason why" and "I want your love" (featuring Johnny Reno's saxophone).

Toujours entouré de ses producteurs Tom Loughborough, Richard Chalk et Tone Sommer (également guitariste), Robert Ealey accéda à une notoriété plus importante grâce à cet album pour Topcat (réédité peu après par Black Top avec un titre en moins). Excellent chanteur, il délivre un bon album de blues texan qu'il a composé avec son guitariste Tone Sommer. On apprécie, en particulier, "Turn out the lights", "One love one kiss", "I had a dream", "Please Mr Johnson", "Goin' to New York".

Always surrounded by his producers Tom Loughborough, Richard Chalk and Tone Sommer (also guitarist), Robert Ealey achieved greater recognition thanks to this album for Topcat (reissued shortly afterward by Black Top with one less track). An excellent singer, he delivers a solid Texas blues album which he composed with his guitarist Tone Sommer. Particularly noteworthy are "Turn out the lights", "One love one kiss", "I had a dream", "Please Mr Johnson", "Goin' to New York".

Après avoir réédité son album "If you need me" (devenu "Turn out the lights"), le label Black Top permit au chanteur Robert Ealey de graver un nouvel album. Produit par son inséparable guitariste Tone Sommer et le saxophoniste Johnny Reno, il délivre un solide cocktail de Texas Blues de sa composition : "See about me", "Too many ways", "Shoo-bee-doo", "Pictures on the wall" sans oublier "Christena" et ses accents Reggae. En décembre 2000, Robert Ealey est gravement blessé lors d'un accident de voiture et décède peu après en mars 2001.

After re-releasing his album "If you need me" (renamed "Turn out the lights"), the Black Top label allowed singer Robert Ealey to record a new album. Produced by his inseparable guitarist Tone Sommer and saxophonist Johnny Reno, he delivers a solid cocktail of his own Texas Blues compositions : "See about me", "Too many ways", "Shoo-bee-doo", "Pictures on the wall" without forgetting "Christena" with its Reggae influences. In december 2000, Robert Ealey was seriously injured in a car accident and died shortly afterward in march 2001.
